  Security Risk Assessment

The Cincinnati Chapter of ASIS International and the Ohio Crime Prevention Association are hosting a joint training on conducting an effective security risk assessment  

Join professionals from local law enforcement, private security, CPTED practitioners, school resource officers, threat assessment consultants, crime prevention officers, and federal law enforcement to discuss the many strategies for security risk assessments. 

The first day’s training topics will include: 

  • Why we conduct security assessments

  • The understanding of risk, liability, and return on investment

  • Guidelines and standards

  • CPTED overview

  • Security in layers 

  • Research and the stakeholder interview

  • Security checklist

  • Specific client needs  

The second day will include a team-based practical exercise including a  stakeholder interview, security assessment of the Taft Museum of Art, and a group presentation. 

Finally, every attendee receives a copy of the book The Science and Art of Security Risk Assessment by Dr. Glen Kitteringham, M.Sc, CPP, and a one-year membership with the Ohio Crime Prevention Association.

INSTRUCTORS

This training was developed  and will be presented by both OCPA and ASIS instructors who are experienced law enforcement officers and private sector security specialists who have earned the OCPA Crime Prevention Specialist designation or ASIS CPP, PSP certfications.  Our presenters are well versed in matters of crime prevention and safety, and are committed to presenting our courses using a professional, informative and insightful approach.
